MIDLAND — “I have no problem with the theory of conservation plans when sound science supports a need. In this case, reputable science clearly indicates a conservation plan is uncalled for. The research finds resoundingly that the Dunes Sagebrush Lizard is not threatened or endangered.

“The federal government came to the Permian Basin today to dangle a carrot — we will not list the lizard as endangered if you will cede private and state lands to federal control.

“I’d like to remind the U.S. Interior Department of our Texas history. After annexation, the Compromise of 1850 allowed Texas to keep as her own the land inside the state boundary. We knew then what we still know today — it’s non-negotiable that Texas — not the federal government — retains jurisdiction over her oil-rich lands.

““The production from the Permian Basin fuels America. I see no need to surrender part of Texas to an administration in Washington DC that has shown only contempt for the oil it contains.”

A while back I went to a Nalta (National Association of Lease and Title Analyst) meeting where I had the pleasure of Meeting Mark Mathis one of the masterminds behind this movie.  It was a very informative documentary and I really enjoyed it I will go thru some of the highlights

The basis of the film is on “America being addicted to Oil” They say our addiction is full blown and America is completely dependent on oil.

 

Some people don’t realize that oil plays a crucial role in all the products we use today.  Oil keeps us clean it is in trash cans, trash bags, garbage trucks, everyday containers that hold cleaning products.

Oil is transportation 98% of movement of people and product in cars, trucks, trains, ships and planes is fueled by oil.  “Without transportation there would be no commerce, without oil there is no transportation” China sees energy as a serious part of economic growth and they are buying up all the reserves they can.  Meanwhile America is not taking the energy movement seriously and wants to change to wind and solar power which right now only contribute to 2% of energy and last I checked neither wind nor sun was going to push my car.

It is in fact that oil is one of the single most global commodities in the world.

It tells of how the media point out all the bad things like oil spills that happen in America it never point out that there have been millions of thousands of off shore wells drilled successful.  It is easy for us to look at the bad things about oil because the good things about oil are taken for granted like the fact you can drive to the grocery store and it is conveniently stocked with everything you need.  I don’t know about you but I am neither a hunter nor a farmer and would really have a hard time if I had to go find my food anywhere other than the grocery store.

I do not believe I am addicted to Oil I am however addicted to the Good Life, I like driving to work a bike would be awfully hard to pedal with my Lap top bag, my 2 kids and their book bags on it.

I am addicted to my Job I love working so I can go out and buy all the things I want.

I am not addicted to Oil but I agree 100% I am definitely spOILed!

The oil issue at hand is a Humanity issue, not a Democratic or Republican issue, people and media feed us lies and some people believe everything they hear and don’t do research Don’t be that person .  Don’t allow yourself to be misinformed by poor journalism don’t choose to follow a green movement simply because it makes you feel like you’re doing the right thing because you don’t have all the facts.  We as Americans need to choose a President who has a clear energy plan who looks at a bigger picture than the 4 year tem and re election.  We need a president whose 1^st priority is not staying in office.

Epic failure

O.k. as to the Dukan Diet it turned out I did get really sick I do not believe it was the diet but the change in weather but knocked me on my ass for four days! so I failed and have decied to start again January 1! Because lets just face it I have no willpower! My Husbands likes me chubby! and the people at this office are hell of cooks!

On a side note I havent had any real good blog topics lately so if anyone has any questions they would like me to respond to! Particlarly in the area of Landman Work Hit me up! I need new Ideas!

Day 2 as expected I am feeling like I got hit by a Mack Truck.  Not sure if it is just allergies or my body getting rid of Toxins.  I started the morning with no headache Yay! I am here at work munching on my smoked Ham and Green Tea .  It is 8:45 and I have already eaten 2 Hardboiled eggs and Ham and I am still hungry I am going to try to push till 10 till I have another snack,  Well I noticed I am eating a lot more today which is good because yesterday my Calories were on the low side anyways (I know I am not supposed to be county calories but hey old habits die hard) Do you know what I hate the fact that in December the people at my Job think it is Fantastic to bring up tons of fatting Yummy Snacks, right now directly across from my office is a Rosa’s Salsa, guacamole, Queso Fiesta Platter.  This is cruel and unusual punishment for me.  But then again who starts a Diet on the Holidays?  As I am sure you can see above I did not cheat LOL Day 2 shouldn’t be this hard

My sister (read her blog its great http://mikahaela.wordpress.com) just
came back from her 10 year class reunion in our home town.  I missed mine because while there are lots of
classmates I truly would like to see again, most I don’t.  There is a reason for this I never really
knew who I was in high school, I tried to fit in with so many people and never
really did.  Partially because I guess it
took me becoming an adult to figure out I didn’t have to try to be like other
people I just had to be me and I am just not a Clique type of girl. In a group
it is just to hard to please everybody.
Somebody always gets hurt.  The
harder you try to please in a group the better you fail. Unavoidably the stress
of trying so desperately and failing so miserably always caused me to
implode.  I would lose my temper with
people who never deserved it.  I’d cry
for no good reason (o.k. I still do that) I get caught in a vicious cycle
fueled by unrealistic expectations of myself.
I can’t be everything to everyone I have tried that and failed.

For me its about individuals.  I find individuals make me happy certain
people I bond with for whatever reason.
My friends are few and far between there a few from my younger days who I
stay in touch with and still miss and think about all the time.  There are the friends I have now as an adult
the ones you kind of know are going to be around forever , they come to my kids
activities we eat lunch once a week, talk daily or weekly .  The funny thing is if you lumped them all
into a group the only thing they probably have in common is the fact that they
are my friends.

But to those few people in my life that really matter I
Promise I can always be there! You are my clique and it’s great to grow
up.  When we grow up we get better!

Ever been brought to tears by a 10 Year old? Ever had a doughnut thrown at you (Ok maybe not at me but in my vicinity) Today has been one of those days Baseball Boy has morphed into one of the Kids from Children of the Corn! It all started last week with a progress report with a 76 on it. All A’s and one lonely 76, so I thought to myself I really need to get high behind this and contacted his teachers. Well it turns out He has 24 Science Words he is supposed to have memorized over the last 3 weeks, and Spelling and Challenge Words along with the regular math worksheet that is brought home. Needless to say this was not being done so like any good Mother I made a list of things for him to do this week to prepare him for his Friday Test:

• Writing each spelling word 100 times (maybe just 10)

• Writing the Definition of the Word out of the Dictionary over and over (I’m pretty sure at 10 I knew how to use the dictionary)

• I made him flash Cards for his Science words so I could quiz him on them

Needless to say the past couple of nights we have been doing about 2.5 hours of homework. By we I mean me and him and for the record I never remember my parents doing homework for 2 hours with me. If I had a question I asked, they helped but for the most part. My Homework was my responsibility. To top it off he has a Shitty attitude when I try to help him he argues with me, kind of like he is smarter than me. Goes something like this:

Me: Well I’m not sure

BB: Mom aren’t you educated?

Me: Apparently not I don’t know how to do this. Didn’t you pay attention in School today? I wasn’t At school today.

Or When I do know the answer

Me: <insert explanation>

BB: No mom that’s not how we do it in school

Me: Do you want my help or not

BB: Yes

Me: Well then do it like I said and Shut up!

 

So Baseball boy hates me yes Hates he thinks I am the anti-Christ and glares evilly at me every chance he gets. I know this too shall pass The X-Box controllers, I pad and T.V has been removed. Anyone out there have any tips for dealing with 10  Years old attitudes that don’t include Beating with a large stick and locking in room Spanking? Or drowning myself in a bottle of Vodka Going Crazy?

Lots of People call me because they want to know if they are
getting a Good deal.  Remember the best
deal always comes from me because that’s how I roll.  No reason why we can’t all make a little
money here.  But for those land owners
out there who want to make sure their division order is right.  Here are some Calculations to help.

Leasehold- When someone buys an OG & ML they are said to
own the “leasehold” interest in this tract.
This means they have the rights granted under the lease to drill,
develop, pool, produce, etc the well.

Royalty Interest- The interest retained by the mineral owner
is called the “Royalty Interest”.  This
is Fraction you see stated of lease.  (We
should get into calculating those but that deserves a post of its own)

Working Interest- the Working Interest or Working Interest
Partners are responsible for all costs involved in exploring for, drilling, and
completing a well.

Net Revenue Interest- The revenue interest of the Working
Interest Partners is usually referred to as Net Revenue Interest and Represents
the revenue attributable to the Working Interest owners share of the Well less
his burden (which is his part of the royalty Interest and Overriding Royalty
Interest)

 

How these things are calculated Lets look closer:

is Calculated by Net Acres/Unit Size (assume you are drilling a gas Well which
hold 640 acres and your lease is pooled:

• I always go out 8 Decimal Places and you should
  always come out to 100% all the way out 1.00000001 is not right do your math
  again

More Wine Please

If you happen to find yourself in Big Spring, Texas, you could be contributing to the water supply every time you relieve yourself. The town is building a plant that will capture and recycle treated waste water, planing to take treated water that would normally flow into a creek and redirect it into the drinking water supply. Discovery News reports the local government feels the move is necessary because West Texas is suffering a terrible drought, receiving 0.1 inches of rain over the past several months. The story says the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power is currently considering a similar measure, injecting reclaimed water into wells. If your municipality piped reclaimed water through your faucets, how would you feel about drinking it? -Huffington Post

 

Hmmmm Now let me think about this for a moment. they are going to be drinking recycled pee/poop Water! Yes! No really Im not sure how I feel about this! But for now I guess I’ll just Drink Wine!
